Support for themes has been extended in Windows 7. In addition to setting the colors of the window chrome, desktop background, desktop icons, mouse pointers and sound schemes, themes in Windows 7 include desktop slideshow settings. Windows 7 Themes are used to change the appearance of a wide range of things at once, which makes them much less granular than allowing the user to set each option individually. Themes can only be used in Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit editions.
