3DS Export for Pro/ENGINEER is a 3D Studio (.3ds) file export plug-in for Pro/ENGINEER WildfireŽ. This plug-in gives Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire the ability to export 3D solid and surface data from a Pro/ENGINEER part and assembly geometry to meshes in a 3DS file.
3DS Export for Pro/ENGINEER tessellates the solid bodies in a Pro ENGINEER part or assembly document into individual triangular meshes. These meshes are then exported to 3DS file as mesh objects. The 3DS file can then be imported into a variety of CAD applications.
3DS Export for Pro/ENGINEER is very easy to use. Once installed, it must be loaded into the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire environment. Follow the simple instructions in the ReadMe document which can be found in the installation folder. Once loaded, it adds new commands to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and a submenu called "3DSExport" to the Pro/ENGINEER menu.
The '3DSExport' menu consists of the following commands:
* Export - Export meshes to a 3DS file
* Help - Display the 3DS Export for Pro/ENGINEER help file
* Register - Register your copy of 3DS Export for Pro/ENGINEER
* About - Display the 3DS Export for Pro/ENGINEER About box
