Windows renamer application which automatically translates Macintosh filenames for Windows use removing illegal characters and adding extensions.
Optionally as a Windows service it regularly scans and replaces characters allowed by Macintosh but forbidden in windows file names.
For the files stored on Mac volumes of NT/2000/XP servers shared by Macintosh and Windows clients, the truncate to 31 characters function allows to view these files from Macintosh more friendly than DOS shortnames.
Can rename files andalso sub-folders.
Can analyze batches of Macintosh files signatures in selected folders.
Setting time interval for update. Each folder can be processed using its specific interval for update
Setting performance
Stores in Log files the list of files renamed.
MacNames works with Microsoft Services for Macintosh (MacFile), Cyan Software MacServerIP or Group Logic ExtremeZ-IP.
