HelpSmith is an innovative help authoring tool which allows you to create CHM Help files, Web Help systems, Word RTF, PDF, and Printed Manual Documentation from the same source. The intuitive environment with a straight-forward user interface includes a powerful Word-like Unicode word-processor with dynamic styles and live spell checker, advanced approach to working with multimedia files, and many other unique features.
Based on the original technologies HelpSmith, enables creating documentation from start to finish and also allows you to import help topics from Microsoft Word (.RTF), .HTML, and plain text files that can be written in multiple Unicode or ANSI code pages.
HelpSmith helps you provide help files for your application in different output help formats such as HTML Help CHM files, a standard help format in Windows. HelpSmith has complete support for all the features of HTML Help, so you can create the tree-type Table of Contents (TOC), alphabetical Index, also you can edit chm viewer's help windows, etc..
If you worked with other help creation tools before, HelpSmith includes the Import ability, so you can import your existing help projects from the .HHP format (Microsoft HTML Help Workshop) or directly from html help CHM files.
The "What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get" principle makes working with HelpSmith as easy as working with regular office application. And, in fact, you do not have to learn any technical details to create professional CHM files and other documentation with the HelpSmith authoring tool.
