Arcade de naves con impresionantes efectos.
Un asteroide errante entra en el espacio controlado por la "Federación de planetas libres".
Dicho asteroide, Maqno 01, está compuesto por un extraño elemento de propiedades únicas, que permitirá dar un nuevo impulso a la industria de procesadores y a la biotecnología.
Con el tiempo, la facción más poderosa de la federación conocida como "El núcleo", logra hacerse con el control del asteroide.
Una generación de máquinas de guerra que utiliza la nueva biotecnología desarrollada a partir de Maqno, podría colapsar el equilibrio planetario.
Una guerra frontal sería un total desastre, pero hay otra opción para los demás miembros de la Federación: recurrir a una fuerza externa, que destruya la red de explotación de Maqno y que ponga en evidencia las verdaderas intenciones de la corporación que finalmente responde a los planes de "El Núcleo".
