Well known standard protocols, like SMTP, POP3, IMAP4 or HTTP provide the basis for a world wide communication. These protocols are easy to handle and compatible with the frequently used messaging products. This consistent approach enables messaging between different platforms in each corner of the world. It doesn?t make a difference whether you are connected to the internet using a dial-up account or through a router in the local area network. Several network connections can be used and activated automatically if necessary. Multiple transactions can be coordinated to minimize network traffic and save communication cost. A graphical user interface offers intelligent features to setup complex operations with just a mouse click. A wizard driven setup utility creates the basic environment for a working email system. Intelligent security features protect your mail system against not allowed intruders and bulk mail senders. Different kinds of external virus scanners can be used to detect dangerous contents just before the message was received. The MIME Filtering feature is used to remove suspect attachments from incoming email messages. MERCUR Messaging 2005 supports secure password authentication for POP3 and IMAP4, as well as subnet- or domain authentication for SMTP to RFC2554.
